One Small Choice to Find Clarity in Life
September has always felt like a fresh chapter to me. Maybe it’s the back-to-school energy, or just the way the air shifts — but it often feels like a reset button, more clarity.
I was running on fumes, saying yes to everyone and everything — classic people-pleasing without realising it. Late-night emails, extra projects, being the person who held it all together.
On the outside, it looked like I had it under control. Inside, my energy reserve was dangerously low.
What surprised me most was that it wasn’t the workload that broke me down — it was the constant habit of putting myself last. I thought that made me selfless. In reality, it left me drained and resentful.
The turning point? Realising I didn’t need to earn rest or prove myself before saying no. Giving myself permission to protect my own energy was a small step, but it created a big shift: more space, more clarity, more confidence.
A gentle reframe 🌸
Change doesn’t always come from huge, dramatic decisions. More often, it begins with one small step. One boundary. One “no.”
Those tiny choices add up to a completely different way of feeling.
Try this today ✍️
Take a quiet moment and ask yourself:
“Where in my life am I still putting myself last?”
Write down one place — just one. Then ask:
“What’s the smallest step I can take this week to honour what I need?”
Even noticing it once is a win. Awareness is the first crack in the armour of your inner critic.
If this lands with you and you’d like a safe space to explore the bigger shifts, you’re always welcome to book a free 30-minute discovery call with me. No pressure — just a gentle chat about what’s on your mind.
